ممّا لا شكّ فيه أنه يحقّ للقيادات الروحية أن تتعاطى الشأن السياسي إذا هي أرادت ذلك. فالشأن السياسي في أيامنا هذه أصبح مصدر قلق للمواطن الذي هو بحاجة الى من يطمئنه وينيّر أمامه الطريق. ولكن على القيادات الروحية أيضاً أن تفهم أن تعاطيها الأمور السياسية قد تعرّضها إمّا للإطراء والمدح وإمّا للإنتقاد والذمّ؛ وهذا أمر طبيعي عليها أن تقبله.
من هذا المنطلق نريد أن نبدي رأينا النقدي على بعض المواقف التي تصدر عادة من مراجع دينيّة اختارت أن تتكلّم بالسياسة مستفيدة من وزن موقعها في المجتمع؛ مع حرصنا الشديد على واجب احترام هذه المراجع وتقدير الدور المنوط بها.
أولاً : على صعيد الوعظ، نرى أن هنالك تناقضاً واضحاً بين خطب بعض القيادات الروحية المسيحية التي ترتكز على قيم الدين، والكلام الذي يصدر عنها عندما تتناول أمور معيّنة في زواريب السياسة. فمثلاً نسمع كثيراً هذه القيادات تبشّر بالحق والحقيقة ولكن عندما تسترسل بالكلام السياسي تتغاضى بقصد أو غير قصد عن معاني هذه القيم، فتتناسى على سبيل المثال عندما تعتلي المنابر، أن تدعو الى محاربة الفساد والفاسدين؛ ورفض التزوير في التحقيق؛ واستهجان مخالفة بعض المسؤولين للقوانين؛ ومواجهة المستأثرين بالسلطة؛ وأخيراً نبذ التشكيك بهوية بعض الشركاء في الوطن. كلّ هذه الأمور محقّة وهي من صميم الرسالات السماوية وجديرة بأن تقال علناً. لكنّها للأسف لا تجد مكاناً في الخطب النارية لبعض القيادات الروحية المسيحية التي يحلو لها أن تطل علينا بين الحين والآخر أو في مناسبات خاصة لتسمع صوتها فإذا بها تساوي بين الصالح والطالح.
ثانياً : على صعيد المواقف، نحن لا نفهم كيف يتحوّل القائد الروحي عندما يتعاطى السياسة الى إنسان لا عمل له سوى الشكوى والنحيب ونشر الإحباط. فالدراسات والأبحاث العديدة التي أضاءت على شخصية القائد عامة، أثبتت أن هذا الأخير يتمتّع بقدرات متعددة على رأسها القدرة على أخذ المبادرة وعلى تحفيز الآخرين لعمل أفضل وأكثر إنتاجية. فكم هي بعيدة هذه القدرات عن ما نراه اليوم في تصرّفات بعض القيادات الروحية المسيحية. إذا كنا حقاً نريد أن يبقى المسيحي في وطنه ويتجذر في أرضه؛ فهذه المواقف المتشائمة والمحبطة لا تساعد بتاتاً على مكافحة الهجرة. نحن بحاجة الى قادة روحيين يتمتعون بشخصية منفتحة، وإيجابية قادرة على مدّ الجسور بين الأفرقاء اللبنانيين وتشجيعهم على فهم بعضهم البعض. فالحياد عن الحقّ أو الإنحياز الى الباطل كما يحصل الآن هما خروج عن القيم والأخلاق الدينية التي علّمنا إيّاها السيد المسيح عندما دخل الى الهيكل وطرد اللصوص.
دعوتنا الى بعض هذه القيادات أن تقرن القول بالفعل والكلام بالإيمان، فتكون هي من يصوّب فعلاً على إضاءة الحق والحقيقة خاصة إذا أرادت أن تتعاطى بالأمور السياسية اليومية للمواطن. هكذا تستطيع أن تكسب ثقة الجميع وليس فقط فئة واحدة تستعمل هذه القيادات كمطية للإستمرار في غييها.
واخيرا كما تصلي بعض القيادات الروحية لأجلنا كي نهتدي بالدين، فلتسمح لنا أن نصلي نحن لأجلها كي تعرف كيف تتعاطى بالسياسة.

بمثل هذه الرخامة خاطب الرئيس ميشال سليمان اللبنانيين في رسالة الاستقلال الاخيرة، قبل أكثر من شهرين. من خطابه، خص مواطنيه بما يصلح لأن يدرّس في كتب اللغة العربية الابتدائية. لغة مبالغ فيها كي تنجو من أي مضمون. فالرئيس ميشال سليمان لا يتوجه إلى شعبه، ولم يفعل من قبل. هو ملزم، CIA منذ خطاب القسم، بالتوجه قلباً وقالباً إلى شريك واحد هو «CIA»

(C) Lebanese Forces (LF) leader Samir Geagea and Minister of Tourism and loyal LF member Joseph Sarkis stopped by the Embassy at 1800 on May 12 to report to the Charge, A/DCM, Defense Attache, and PolOff on his day of meetings with key political figures. Geagea declared at the outset that he had visited Prime Minister Fouad Siniora earlier in the day at 1500, and "Siniora is doing excellently," which we note is an improvement from the previous day (Ref A). Geagea explained that the PM is isolated from the outside world since he is holed up for security reasons at the Grand Serail. 4. (C) Geagea reported that he visited the PM to convince him to convene the Cabinet in order to discuss withdrawing its May 5 decisions to transfer the head of airport security and declare Hizballah's fiber optics network illegal (Ref B). Siniora rejected his appeal, Geagea relayed, and told him that the Cabinet cannot withdraw its decisions without a serious guarantee that the opposition will withdraw from the streets ... ... 5. (C) Concluding that Siniora would not budge, Geagea told us that we should urge March 14 leaders Saad Hariri and Walid Jumblatt to stop pushing Siniora. "The PM will not give anything for free," Geagea stated, himself agreeing with the PM.
